The city of Elkhart has an aerator that was installed in 1993 as part of its municipal water treatment system. The aerator, designed by Fiberglass Inc, is a square unit that has the measured dimensions of 4 ft by 4 ft by 11 ft in height. The 300-gpm aerator was installed to remove gaseous impurities from the well water. WETS was contacted to perform aerator rehab work on the city’s aerator. The scope of work included: removing existing packing and replacing it with brand new NSF approved Lanpac XL packing, cleaning the interior of the aerator, repairing header system, installing a new blower system, repairing the support grating, sterilizing the aerator, and painting the aerator with a UV protected color.
